Can Back pain Cause Knee Pain?

You bet back pain can cause knee pain. As the old song "Dem Bones" goes "The hip bone's connected to the thigh bone, the thigh bone's connected to the back bone" etc. etc.

If you have poor posture or use your back incorrectly in any way, it can most certainly cause your knees to hurt by putting extra pressure on them or by causing you to use them improperly. You can do exercises or therapies that help reduce knee pain but if you don't treat the core problem – which is in the back – the knee pain won't disappear or, if it does go away , it will almost certainly return. When your back hurts it's entirely possible that while trying to walk in a position where you have less pain, that you will put pressure on your knees in the wrong way and this in turn can cause knee pain.

It's important to address the root cause of the knee pain and this would include checking the body alignment and addressing whatever is causing the pain.
